Frequently asked questions

To cancel: open your iPhone Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Thymly → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Cancelling through the Thymly app itself does not cancel the subscription — it must be done through Apple's subscription management.
Open Thymly → tap the Me tab (bottom right) → scroll to Apple Health → toggle it on. You'll be prompted to grant permission. Thymly only ever reads from Apple Health — it never writes data back. You can revoke access at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Thymly.
For the best scan results: make sure your kitchen is well lit, hold the camera steady about 12–18 inches from the items, and give the scanner a full second to process each item. Low-confidence detections show an amber warning badge — tap these to confirm or correct them. You can always add items manually by tapping the + button.
Nutrition values for AI-generated recipes are estimates based on standard ingredient data and should be treated as approximations. For packaged foods scanned via barcode, Thymly uses the nutritional information from the product's label, which is accurate. For recipes you cook, portion sizes affect actual values. Thymly is not a substitute for professional dietary advice — always consult a registered dietitian for medical nutrition decisions.
Go to the Shopping List tab in Thymly. At the top of the screen you'll see four buttons: Instacart, Kroger, Walmart, and Amazon. Tap whichever store you prefer and Thymly will open that app (or its website) with your shopping list items pre-populated and ready to add to your cart.
Yes. The free version of Thymly includes basic pantry scanning, up to 5 AI-generated recipes per month, and the shopping list feature. Thymly Premium ($6.99/month after a 7-day free trial) unlocks unlimited recipes, all 30 chef personas, the full calorie and nutrition tracker, barcode scanning, meal planning, grocery app sync, Apple Health, Projects, and Chef Chat.
You can delete your account in two ways: in the app (Me tab → scroll to bottom → Delete Account) or by emailing us at hello@thymlychef.com with the subject "Delete my account." All your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. See our full account deletion page for complete details.
Thymly processes all payments through the Apple App Store, so refund requests must go through Apple directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Thymly charge, and submit a refund request. Apple typically responds within a few business days.
Thymly is currently available on iPhone (iOS). An Android version is on our roadmap for after the iOS launch. If you'd like to be notified when Android becomes available, email us at hello@thymlychef.com and we'll add you to the waitlist.
Absolutely. Thymly never sells your data, never shares it with advertisers, and never stores your Apple Health data on our servers. Your pantry, recipes, and food logs are encrypted and secured with row-level security — no other user can ever access your data. Read our full Privacy Policy for complete details.
