ThymlyChef ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by KeelyApps LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the ThymlyChef mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Profile preferences: dietary restrictions, cuisine preferences, kitchen confidence level, and budget settings
• Pantry data: ingredients and items you add to your pantry inventory
• Meal and nutrition data: meals logged, recipes saved, and meal plans you create
• Recipe card images: photos you take or upload for the recipe scanner feature
• Communications: messages and queries you send to ThymlyChef's chef assistant

Information collected automatically

• Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
• Usage data: features used, recipes generated, and in-app interactions
• Log data: IP address, access times, and crash reports

Health data

With your explicit permission, ThymlyChef may read from and write to Apple HealthKit (iOS) to sync nutrition and calorie data. Health data is used only to provide the Service's nutrition tracking features. We do not sell, share, or use health data for advertising purposes.

How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service
• To generate personalized recipes based on your pantry and preferences
• To track nutrition and sync with Apple Health (with your permission)
• To build and display meal plans, shopping lists, and event menus
• To send account-related communications (e.g., password resets, receipts)
• To diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
• To comply with legal obligations

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing), under confidentiality obligations
• Anthropic: Queries sent to the chef assistant are processed through the Anthropic API. Please review Anthropic's privacy policy for details on how they handle data
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of ThymlyChef, our users, or the public
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

Children's privacy

ThymlyChef is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Your rights and choices

• Access and correction: You may access and update your profile information within the app at any time
• Data deletion: You may request deletion of your account and data at any time — see our Delete Account page
• Health data: You may revoke HealthKit access at any time in your iOS Settings
• Marketing emails: You may opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in any email
• California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information

Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party services such as Instacart, Walmart, Kroger, and Amazon Fresh. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
